I’m not lying when I say that I have been TERRIBLE with keeping up with my blogs. So because of this, I have made Sunday’s my day to blog. Every Sunday, I will post about how my week has been, what I’ve done, what I’ve seen, and just anything new. Fingers crossed that I actually do keep up with it!

So Jon is currently deployed. I miss him so much because he’s not here to experience anything with me so far. Every time I go and do something, or see something cool, it makes me a little sad because he’s not here. I’m not even sure when he will be home, but I seriously can not wait.

Even though he hasn’t been here, I have been keeping myself busy. My day to day is quite boring.

My typical day consists of:

– wake up

– have breakfast

– ride my bike to base to workout

– go to the post office/grocery store

– ride bike home and have lunch

– clean my house

– watch tv and have dinner

Speaking of working out, that is one thing I did want to point out in this post. I have been working out harder than I ever had in my life, and because of that, I am so proud of my progress. I have officially lost 20 pounds and I have added so much muscle. And I’m not done yet! I am about to start week 3 of the Charlie Mike program. It’s definitely hard, but it will be worth it in the end.

In addition to the Charlie Mike program, I still do spinning on Sunday mornings, and I joined the intramural volleyball league on base. I’m really trying to stay active while Jon is gone. It keeps my mind away from being too sad, and I’m getting in shape!

On the days when I’m not focusing on my usual agenda, I’m going on day trips nearby. I went to Kamakura again and ate Okonomiyaki for the first time.

Okonomiyaki (お好み焼き o-konomi-yaki) ( listen (help. · info)) is a Japanese savory pancake containing a variety of ingredients. The name is derived from the word okonomi, meaning “how you like” or “what you like”, and yaki meaning “grill” (cf. yakitori and yakisoba).

I do have a couple people to thank for keeping me busy. I have made two very good friends so far, Megan and Amanda. They are very special to me. I can’t thank them enough for spending so much time with me. I secretly hope they aren’t tired of me yet! We only have more fun to come! More adventures to go on! And more laughs to add!
