I decided to skip a day…but by the time any of y’all read this, it would be 2 days since I last posted. The good thing is that I haven’t been that busy. Let’s start with Sunday.
I woke up bright and early on Sunday because my dad and I went to my grandparents house on the river. (The Chowan river – for those of you not around here, you should google it…its a beautiful place.) My grandma made breakfast — bacon, eggs, and CHEESE BISCUITS. Who doesn’t love a good cheese biscuit?! The breakfast was complete with a side of good times and laughter at the table.
My grandparents house is right on the water. There are many places to explore, so that’s was we did. Me, my dad, my aunt (Melinda), and my Pop-Pop went for a walk down the beach. To be honest, half the time I was scared because I was sure I would see a snake.
Times like these, I’m glad that I decided to carry my camera around with me so I could take pictures. By no means am I a professional, but some of the pictures are good I think…Anyways; it was a beautiful day so I had so many opportunities to take pictures. I’ve become obsessed with remembering to take pictures lately because of the upcoming move to Japan. I want to have all of these special memories to look back on.
The rest of the day was pretty relaxed. So much so that I even took a 2 hour nap…I never take naps. The day was topped off with a trip to Nu Quality Ice Cream in Elizabeth City. (OMG- they have the best ice cream…although my friend MEGHAN will disagree and say that Carl’s is better.)
Monday was a nice day also. I reunited with my old friend Brittany. It was special because not only did I get to meet her sweet baby Josie, but we also got to surprise Aubrey at her field day.
—-Aubrey is Brittany’s oldest daughter whom I have known since she was probably 2. I used to live with them and in that time we grew super close and I look at her like my own family.
All in all, it was a good two days. I’m excited for tomorrow also because my memaw and I are having a little girls day and going to have lunch.
I really am grateful for this time I get to spend with my family and friends before the big move. I don’t want to waste a single minute of it!
