First official day back home.

So far, a pretty un-eventful day. I woke up and the first thing I did was unpack. Turns out, I packed a lot of things…especially shoes! But I needed to make sure I was prepared for anything that came my way! After I unpacked, I decided to not be a couch potato, so I dragged my butt to the gym. My first time at the Coast Guard base gym in Elizabeth City. I’m used to the really nice facility in Dalgren, but I’m going to have to get used to the one in EC…it’s not quite as nice. All that matter is that I got my sweat on!

Oh! And it’s the weekend of the ole’ Potato Festival in Elizabeth City. I don’t think I will be in attendance…looks a little crowded for me…

I decided to do a little grocery shopping to get myself some snacks to keep at my dads. I haven’t been to a Farm Fresh in a while…man, I missed that grocery store. Anyone that knows me, knows that I LOVE grocery shopping!

As I was driving home from the store, I was just looking around all of these familiar roads that I used to drive on every day as I was growing up. Anyone that I’ve met not from Currituck, I’ve always described the area being really rural, but I don’t think they every fully grasped just HOW rural; so I took some pictures.

I couldn’t have been happier growing up in a place like this. It is quiet, and mostly everyone is nice. And another plus; it’s rural enough, we can shoot guns in our backyard! #winning

Who knows what is in store the rest of the day…

Tomorrow my dad and I are going to see my grandparents and my aunt at the river!

Sorry it’s kind of boring right now…hopefully things will get more exciting.
